Air fares increases

Air fares which have been hiked recently would rise again if the sales tax on jet fuel is not reduced. With global oil prices are fluctuating showing no signs of cooling down; oil prices are expected to increase the prices of aviation turbine fuel, creating more financial pressure on the air lines. It seems with the current crude prices, a hike seems imminent. Airlines and passengers can have some relief only if the government comes with some tax cut and and also relaxation of rules to allow airlines to fly abroad. Further airlines fear that they cannot offer lower fare benefits to the air passengers and they can continue to do so only if the cost environment gets less hostile.
